Tōru Okazaki

Tōru Okazaki is a Japanese actor known for his work in television dramas and tokusatsu productions, most notably for playing the title role in the 1974-1975 series Kamen Rider Amazon. In this series, he portrayed Daisuke Yamamoto, a young man raised in the Amazon rainforest who transforms into the heroic Kamen Rider Amazon to fight the evil Geddon organization and later the Garanda Empire. The role required a physically demanding performance, with Okazaki appearing in the character's signature primitive costume of a loincloth for many episodes. He reprised the role of Daisuke Yamamoto and Kamen Rider Amazon in the subsequent series Kamen Rider Stronger and again in the special All Together! Seven Kamen Riders!!. Before his famous role as Kamen Rider Amazon, Okazaki played the lead role of Kansuke Hotta, who transforms into Pegasus, in the 1974 action drama Dengeki!! Strada 5. His other early acting credits include roles in the television drama White Fang and the historical drama series Katsu Kaishu. He also made an appearance in the 1975 film The Man Gang.
