Adeline Schebesch is a German theater and film actress and voice actor born on January 8, 1961 in Erlangen, Germany. Her early artistic career began with amateur stage productions during her school years. After initially considering studies in chemistry and biology following her Abitur, she instead pursued acting, receiving a one-year contract at the Erlangen Theater in der Garage. After a period of study in Ireland, she relocated to Vienna and was accepted into the prestigious Max Reinhardt Seminar in 1983, spending thirteen years in Austria before returning to Germany.

In the realm of anime, Schebesch is recognized for her voice work in several prominent series and films produced during the 1990s. One of her most notable roles is Ryouko in the Tenchi Muyo! franchise, specifically in the Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki OVA series. She also voiced two distinct characters in the El-Hazard: The Magnificent World series: the powerful ancient being Ifurita and the hot-tempered fire priestess Shayla-Shayla. Her other significant anime credits include the role of Rosalind Horhes in Armitage III and its film compilation Armitage III: Poly-Matrix, Nena Hagen in Agent Aika, and Aphrodite in Wedding Peach. Additional roles include Tamiko in Mezzo DSA and voices in Cool Devices and The Erotic Temptress.

Beyond her voice work for anime, Schebesch has maintained a substantial career in German theater. Since 1997, she has been a permanent ensemble member at the Staatstheater Nürnberg. Her stage work has earned critical acclaim, including the Darstellerpreis der Bayerischen Theatertage in 1998 for Bullets over Broadway (Kugeln überm Broadway) and the Preis der Bayerischen Theatertage in 2002 for The Vagina Monologues. In recognition of her contributions to theater, she was named Kammerschauspielerin by the Staatstheater Nürnberg in 2012 and received the Bavarian Order of Merit in 2022.
