Hikaru Koide

Description
Hikaru Koide is a Japanese voice actress and idol singer born on July 4, 1999, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. She is known for her work in short-form comedy anime series and was a member of the idol group Earth Star Dream, which has been a source of talent for voice acting in anime productions.

Koide began her voice acting career with a significant role in the 2016 television series Usakame, a spin-off of the comedy anime Teekyu. In Usakame, she voiced Kurumi Sato, one of the four eccentric members of the Usakame High School tennis club. Her work on this series included performing the opening theme song "Hashire! Usakame Koukou Tennis-bu!!" alongside fellow cast members Yuki Nakashima, Izumi Araida, and Maria Tanijiri. She continued her association with the franchise by reprising the role of Kurumi Sato for the eighth season of the main Teekyu series, which aired later in 2016.

In 2017, Koide took on the leading role of Banjo Ueki Tylor in the short television anime series The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor. This series served as a distant-future sequel to the 1990s classic The Irresponsible Captain Tylor. In this production, she voiced the title character, a descendant of the original protagonist who works as a space garbage collector. The casting of Koide, who was relatively new to the industry at the time, was a notable feature of the revival project.

Beyond her voice acting, Koide has also been recognized for her musical contributions to anime. For The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor, she formed a musical unit named Hikanon with fellow voice actress Kanon Takao. Together, they performed the series' opening theme song "Smile Invitation". This collaboration saw Koide contribute both as a vocalist and as a principal cast member, voicing Banjo Ueki Tylor alongside Takao who voiced the character Azalyn Goza the 168th.

Her professional work has been concentrated in the mid-2010s, specifically on productions from the animation studio Seven and its associates, including collaborations with director Hiroshi Kimura, who helmed both The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor and other short-form anime projects. While her list of major anime roles is focused on these two primary series, her work on the long-running Teekyu franchise and its spin-offs established her as a recognizable voice in the genre of high-energy, short-form comedy anime.
