Born in 1978 in Essen, Germany, Bonn completed his acting studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Bochum from 2000 to 2004, graduating with a diploma. His early career was rooted in traditional theater, with engagements at the Landestheater Tübingen, Theater Heidelberg, and a six-year tenure at the Staatstheater Kassel. Since 2014, he has worked as a freelance actor while also building a substantial career in voice work.

Bonn transitioned into voice acting around 2015 after completing a dubbing and microphone course at the Academy for Professional Speaking under Katharina Koschny. His voice is described as dynamic, versatile, and fresh, suitable for characters in the young adult to middle-aged range. As a German dubbing artist, he provides voices for foreign-language films and series, including numerous anime productions.

Within the anime genre, Bonn has voiced several notable characters in their German-language dubs.
