Description
Emmanuelle Pailly, also known as Emmanuelle Hamet-Pailly, is a French voice actress who was highly active in the dubbing industry during the 1990s. Her career in animation voiceover is most famously defined by her role as the lead character in the French adaptation of the magical girl series Sailor Moon. She provided the voice for Bunny Rivière, the French name for Usagi Tsukino, in her civilian identity as well as her superhero alter-egos Sailor Moon and Princess Serenity. Pailly was the original voice of this character for the first three seasons of the anime. Her tenure as Sailor Moon concluded with her final performance in an episode of the series Sailor Moon S. She also reprised the role for the feature film Sailor Moon R: The Movie.

Beyond her signature role in Sailor Moon, Pailly’s anime voice credits include several other notable French adaptations of Japanese series from the same era. She played the role of Léona in the series Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken, known in French as Fly. In the series City Hunter 3, which aired in France under the title Nicky Larson, she voiced multiple characters across various episodes, including a role identified as Mirna. Her other animation work from the 1990s includes Lolita in La Légende de Zorro, the title role in Princesse Shéhérazade, Rosalie in Caliméro et ses amis, and supporting roles in series such as Conan l’Aventurier, Pygmalion, and the French dub of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles.

In 1995, Pailly married actor Luq Hamet and stepped back from voice acting to focus on raising a family. She later returned to creative work as an artist under the pseudonym Rosetta Bonbon and has published a book. Her later voice roles include work on the animated series Les Dalton, Ariol, and Tom-Tom et Nana.
