Edward Marcus

Description
Edward Marcus is an American voice actor primarily known for his extensive work on the English AB Groupe dubs of several Dragon Ball films and television specials, which were produced in the early 2000s.

In these dubs, Marcus voiced a wide array of characters, often taking on multiple roles within a single production. He provided the voice for Vegeta in films such as Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13! and Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan. His other significant roles in the Dragon Ball franchise include Meta Cooler in Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler, Slug in Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug, and God in Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone. He also voiced Lucifer, the Genius Turtle, and the character Crafty Turtle across several early Dragon Ball movies, including Curse of the Blood Rubies, Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle, and Mystical Adventure. Beyond these, his extensive filmography for the AB Groupe dubs includes voicing characters such as Master Roshi, Freeza, Yajirobe, Dodoria, Shenron, and Grandpa Gohan, as well as serving as a narrator for many of these features.

Information on Marcus's career is largely drawn from his work on these English dubs. He retired from voice acting sometime in 2003. Among some fans of these particular dubs, he was informally nicknamed the Old Bastard before his identity was confirmed, a reference to his noticeably aged vocal quality and the wide variety of characters he portrayed. He also had a role as a narrator and the voice of Sancho Panza in a 1992 production of Don Quixote.
