IKKAN is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on March 1, 1971, in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. He is affiliated with the theatrical company Theatre Echo and serves as the representative of the production unit Office Kaijinsha. His real name is Arai Ikkan.
IKKAN began his voice acting career in the 1990s after joining Theatre Echo in 1992. Beyond performing, he has extensive experience as a stage director and writer, having founded or co-founded several theatre groups including IKKAN Produce, Kaiketsu Panders, and Tsuranuki Kaizokudan. He is also recognized for producing and developing notable comedians such as Tekken and Toriamu Hajime.
In the field of animation and puppetry, IKKAN is known for his long-running role as the voice of the Rapper, a kappa character, in the NHK Educational TV series Gan Gan Ganko-chan and its related shows, including Shin Zawazawa Mori no Ganko-chan and Zawazawa En no Ganpe-chan.
