Rachael Leigh Cook is an American actress and voice artist whose work in anime and video game dubbing is most defined by her long-running portrayal of Tifa Lockhart from the Final Fantasy VII series.
Cook began her voice work in animation with a role in the DC animated universe, providing the voice for Chelsea Cunningham on the series Batman Beyond and reprising the character for the animated film Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. She also became a frequent contributor to the stop-motion comedy series Robot Chicken, voicing various characters across multiple episodes. Her other recurring animated voice role was as Lieutenant Jodi Yanarelli on the sci-fi comedy series Titan Maximum.
Her most significant and enduring contribution to anime voice acting came in 2005 with the English dub of the CGI film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, in which she voiced Tifa Lockhart. Cook's portrayal of Tifa, described by the actress as a character who is both very strong and very sensitive, became the established English voice for the character in subsequent projects.
