Akiyuki Nasu

Akiyuki Nasu is a Japanese comedian and voice actor, best known as a member of the comedic duo Nasunakanishi. He was born on December 14, 1980, in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Nasu began his entertainment career in 2001 when he formed a comedy duo with his cousin, Shigeki Nakanishi. The duo, which originally went by several names before settling on Nasunakanishi, performs manzai stage comedy where Nasu typically serves as the straight man. He is affiliated with the talent agency Shochiku Geino.
While primarily a comedian appearing on variety shows, Nasu has taken on voice acting roles in anime. His most prominent voice role is as the protagonist Meisaku Matsuda in the NHK educational anime series Ahare! Meisaku-kun. The series, which began airing in April 2016, consists of short five-minute episodes following an ordinary boy named Meisaku Matsuda who enrolls in a school for famous character archetypes. Nasu voices the lead character, a normal boy who often finds himself acting as the straight man to his eccentric classmates. He continued voicing this role through multiple seasons, including the third season which premiered in April 2018. In addition to voicing the main character, Nasu also performed theme songs for the series, contributing to the ending themes for the third and fourth seasons.
Beyond Ahare! Meisaku-kun, Nasu has a limited number of other anime credits. He appeared as a voice actor in the anime Kayoe! Chūgaku and had a role in the 2021 animated film Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime, known in English as Belle. More recently, he voiced the character Vice Principal in the 2023 series Fermat's Cuisine.
Nasu frequently collaborates with his comedy partner Shigeki Nakanishi, who also voices a character named Sweets in Ahare! Meisaku-kun. The two have worked together as a comedy duo for over two decades, and their partnership extends to their voice work on the same anime series. In late 2023, Nasu was hospitalized due to a cerebral infarction, and he and his partner discussed this experience during a November 2024 appearance on the long-running talk show Tetsuko's Room.
