Jochen Kolenda is a German actor and voice actor born on February 28, 1953 in Essen, Germany. His full name is Joachim Werner Kolenda. He completed his acting diploma at the Westfälische Schauspielschule in Bochum in 1974. His professional acting career began in theater, with engagements at the Schauspielhaus in Essen in 1973, the Stadttheater Pforzheim from 1974 to 1976, and the Schauspielhaus Köln from 1976 to 1978. He has been active in film, television, and voice work since 1974.

As a voice actor, Kolenda has an extensive career lending his bass-baritone voice to numerous roles in films and television series, including a significant body of work in German dubbing for anime and animated productions. He has been credited with over one hundred voice roles. His vocal range and experience have made him a versatile presence in German dubbing.

Among his most recognized anime voice roles is that of Seitarou Sakaki in the German dubs of Patlabor: The Movie (1989) and Patlabor 2: The Movie (1993), where he provided the voice for the character originally performed by Osamu Saka. Another notable anime role is Oyakata Kurobee in the series Coppelion (2013), a part he played across multiple episodes. His other work in the anime genre includes roles in the German dubs of classic films and series such as Fist of the North Star, Ghost in the Shell, Dragon Ball, Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, No Game No Life, Spice and Wolf, Jormungand, and Hunter x Hunter.

Alongside his anime work, Kolenda has voiced characters in a wide range of other media, including Hollywood productions, live-action international films, and television series. His voice can be heard in films such as Fire & Ice: The Dragon Chronicles and on series like Call the Midwife. As an on-camera actor, he has appeared in numerous German television productions, including recurring roles in the telenovela Rote Rosen from 2006 to 2007 as Werner Treskow and in the series Danni Lowinski from 2010 to 2014 as Judge Heidkamp. He has also made guest appearances in long-running series such as Tatort. Beyond screen acting, Kolenda also works as a narrator for audiobooks.
