Alejandro Trejo

Description
Alejandro Edmundo Trejo Zapata, known professionally as Alejandro Trejo, is a Chilean theater, television, and voice actor born in Santiago, Chile, on August 8, 1959. His career in performance began almost by chance, as theater was initially his second choice. He entered the Moneda Theater School in 1979 under the direction of Pury Durante and later co-founded the street theater company El Clavo in 1986. While he has built a distinguished career in live-action film and television, including an award-winning role in the 2001 film A Cab for Three, Trejo has also maintained a parallel career as a voice actor for over two decades, lending his voice to commercials, television documentaries, and numerous animated series.

Within the realm of anime, Trejo is recognized for several significant roles in series dubbed for the Latin American audience. He is known for providing the voice of Ken Nakajima in the anime series You're Under Arrest, known in Spanish as Están Arrestados. He also voiced the character Jin Koishikawa in the romantic comedy series Marmalade Boy, which is known in Spanish as La familia crece. Beyond these two prominent roles, his anime voice acting credits include the character Ramenman and a fight reporter in Kinnikuman (known as El Hombre Músculo), Mr. Tanaka in Sonic X, Scott Cutter in Macron I, and Kirkland in Zoids: New Century. He also contributed to the Latin American Spanish dubs of Transformers: Animated as Henry Masterson, also known as Headmaster, and Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! as the character Mandarin.

Trejo's voice work extends beyond Japanese animation into other animated series and franchises. He is known for being the original voice of Larry the Cucumber in the Latin American Spanish dub of VeggieTales, as well as providing the voice of Bo in the later seasons of Garfield and His Friends. He also voiced the iconic Pink Panther character in The Pink Panther Show. In addition to animation, his voice acting credits include dubbing roles for live-action productions, such as providing the voice of Thor in the science fiction series Stargate SG-1 and voicing Marvin Boggs, originally played by John Malkovich, in the film Red.

While his voice acting showcases a wide range of characters across different genres and formats, the record does not indicate recurring collaborations with specific directors, studios, or other voice actors in the anime industry that form a distinct pattern in his career. Trejo's primary achievements as an actor are concentrated in his live-action film and television work in Chile. He received the Best Actor award at both the Cinemanila International Film Festival and the Gramado Film Festival for his performance in A Cab for Three. He also won an Altazor Award for Best Actor for his role in the television series Los archivos del cardenal in 2012. His long and prolific career as a stage, film, and television actor in his home country remains the central focus of his professional life, with anime and animation voice work representing a significant but parallel facet of his body of work.
