Chris Forbis
Description
Chris Forbis is an American voice actor and script writer known for his work with Funimation Entertainment, particularly on the English adaptations of the Dragon Ball franchise. He became involved with the franchise around the time Funimation first licensed the series in 1995, contributing as both a writer and performer. In the voice acting side of his career, Forbis is best known for his roles in the Dragon Ball series, having provided the English voice for the large, pink-skinned henchman Dodoria in the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball Z. He also portrayed Dodoria in related films and specials, including Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku and Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn. In addition to Dodoria, Forbis voiced the character Dr. Brief, the father of Bulma and owner of Capsule Corporation, in both the original Dragon Ball series and Dragon Ball Z. Beyond the world of Dragon Ball, Forbis contributed to several other notable anime series dubbed by Funimation. He provided voices for characters in Yu Yu Hakusho, including the role of Genbu, and in the long-running detective series Case Closed, where he voiced characters such as Charles Peterson. His additional voice credits include roles in Baki the Grappler, where he played Tubby, as well as Blue Gender and The Galaxy Railways. Alongside his performance work, Forbis was also a prominent script writer for the English adaptation of Dragon Ball, contributing to the writing team that helped shape the dialogue and narrative flow for the series.
