Paolo Poiret was an Italian actor and voice actor known for his extensive work in dubbing for film and animation. Born on 29 September 1945 in Milan, Poiret began his career on stage in 1972 before moving into film, television, and voice acting in 1975. He remained active in the entertainment industry until his death on 1 November 2015 in Rocca San Giovanni at the age of 70. While he appeared in several Italian cinema and television productions, he became particularly renowned for his voice work, serving as the Italian dubbing voice for numerous international stars including Robert De Niro, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steve Martin, Harvey Keitel, and Craig T. Nelson. He also worked as a dubbing director.

In the field of animation, Poiret held several notable roles for Italian-dubbed versions of major productions. He provided the voice of King Cornelius in the Disney animated film The Black Cauldron, originally voiced by John Hurt. He was also the Italian voice of Venger in the animated series Dungeons & Dragons. One of his most recognized roles in anime was providing the Italian voice for Inspector Koichi Zenigata in the film Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. For his work in television dubbing, specifically for his voice work on the series Wolff, un poliziotto a Berlino, he won the Premio Voci nell'ombra award in 2002 in the category of Best Male Voice for Television. His career was marked by recurring collaborations dubbing actors such as De Niro, Keitel, and Craig T. Nelson, as well as frequent work for the Italian television network Rai.
