René Pinochet

Description
René Alberto Pinochet Mendoza, born March 8, 1977 in Santiago, Chile, is a Chilean voice actor known for his work on anime series and animated programs. He was born prematurely, which contributed to a unique physical and vocal development; as an adult, he retained the voice and appearance of a child, a characteristic that shaped his career as a specialist in voicing young male characters.

Pinochet began his voice acting career in his late teens after being encouraged by his father to audition for a role. His first major anime role was Mito, a henchman in the series Kinnikuman. He later became widely recognized for voicing the protagonist Aang in the Latin American Spanish dub of the animated series Avatar: The Legend of Aang. His distinctive vocal quality also led to him providing the voice for Ryder in the childrens series PAW Patrol: Patrulla de Cachorros.

Within the genre of anime, his voice roles include several characters from the Zoids franchise. He voiced Matt in the series Zoids: Fuzors, Prince Rudolph in ZOIDS: Chaotic Century, and Vega Oscura in Zoids: New Century Zero. His other anime credits include the role of Chris Thorndyke (also known simply as Christopher) in the first 52 episodes of Sonic X and the character Luke during the fourteenth season of Pokémon. He also provided the voice of Tenchi as a child for one episode of Tenchi Muyo!. Outside of anime, his work in animated series includes roles such as Yang in Yin Yang Yo!, Todd Daring and Shelton Klutzberry in Los sustitutos, and Benzo in the Chilean production Pulentos.

Throughout his career, Pinochet has worked extensively in Chile, including long periods at the DINT studio. Between 2011 and 2012, he resided in Mexico to pursue voice acting opportunities before returning to Chile. He is recognized as one of the most popular and enduring voice actors in Latin America, known for bringing a professional adult work ethic to roles that required a youthful sound at a time when working with child actors presented significant production challenges. Later in his career, Pinochet faced the professional consequence of his changing voice due to a medical treatment for his condition, which began to alter his signature childlike timbre.
