TV-Series
Description
Matt is a young child approximately ten years old who resides in Blue City on Planet Zi. His mother died at an unspecified time before the events of the series, and his father left the city to work elsewhere, leaving Matt to live on his own. He is discovered by RD, the protagonist of Zoids: Fuzors, and quickly becomes a devoted fan of RD and his Zoid battles. RD takes Matt in, and he becomes an unofficial member of the Mach Storm team, effectively being adopted by them. Matt is enthusiastic and eager to follow RD on missions, often tagging along without hesitation. He is resilient; after a dangerous incident in which the Leoblaze he had learned to pilot was stolen by the rival team Savage Hammer and used to form the Matrix Dragon Fuzor, Matt does not appear traumatized and later even refers to that event without fear. His primary motivation is to become a Zoid pilot, inspired by RD. He learns to pilot Mach Storm's Leoblaze, though his attempts initially meet with skepticism from the rest of the team. The Leoblaze is notable because it is the only one of its kind compatible with Savage Hammer's Zoids to form the Matrix Dragon Fuzor, making Matt's connection to that Zoid a key plot point. Matt's relationship with RD is central; RD acts as a mentor and guardian, while Matt looks up to him as a hero. He also forms bonds with the other members of Mach Storm, who eventually accept him. Over the course of the series, Matt develops from a lonely, self-sufficient child into a confident and active part of the team. He continues to accompany RD on various missions and even plays a minor role in the discovery of the ancient Zoid Jet Falcon, where he appears to hear a voice calling from it, suggesting a latent sensitivity. His notable abilities include piloting the Leoblaze and a possible empathic or psychic connection to certain Zoids. Matt's presence in the story underscores themes of family, mentorship, and the adventurous spirit of youth.
