Pierre Garin, born Pierre Étienne Marcel Petit on March 31, 1925, in Paris, France, was a French actor who built a prolific career specializing in voice dubbing. A graduate of the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique, Garin became a familiar presence in French-language versions of numerous international films and animated series. He passed away on August 15, 1986, at the age of sixty-one.

Garin's extensive body of work in animation during the 1970s and 1980s has made him a recognizable figure to French audiences who grew up watching imported Japanese and European cartoons. He voiced the character Gaspard in the acclaimed series The Mysterious Cities of Gold. In the science fiction anime Space Pirate Captain Harlock, known in French as Albator, le corsaire de l'espace, he provided the voice for the character Vilak and also voiced Mitsuru Kiruda. His work on Ulysses 31, a Franco-Japanese adaptation of Homer's Odyssey, is particularly notable. In this series, he played the role of Le pirate borgne, the one-eyed pirate, as well as the character Melanthios.

Throughout his career, Garin contributed to many other animated titles. He voiced the villainous Diskor in Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors (Jayce et les Conquérants de la Lumière) and took on multiple roles in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, including Man-E-Faces and Zodac. His voice work also appeared in the French adaptations of several films and series, such as The Transformers, where he voiced characters including Astrotrain, Blaster, and Hoist, and contributed to the voice of Megatron in certain episodes. Additional animation credits include a role in the French dub of Pinocchio as Stromboli, Dumbo as one of the crows, and Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing, in the 1967 and 1978 Fantastic Four series. He also had a voice role in the 1968 film Asterix and Cleopatra.

Beyond his animation work, Pierre Garin was a prolific dubbing artist for live-action productions. He was the official French voice for actor Herbert Lom, most famously as Inspector Charles Dreyfus in the Pink Panther series. He also dubbed Clifton James as Sheriff J.W. Pepper in two James Bond films, Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun. Garin voiced the character of Captain Dobey, played by Bernie Hamilton, in the police drama Starsky & Hutch and was the French voice of Isaiah Edwards in the series Little House on the Prairie. His other notable dubbing credits include providing a voice for Bud Spencer, Mr. T as Clubber Lang in Rocky III, and John Colicos as Count Baltar in the original Battlestar Galactica series.
