Gonzalo Rei Chao was a Spanish actor and voice actor, born in 1945 in Galicia, Spain, who passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 80. He is most widely recognized for providing the Galician-language voice for the character Master Roshi, known as Mestre Mutenroi, in several installments of the Dragon Ball anime series. According to reports, he voiced this character in Dragon Ball Z Kai, as well as the films Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F.
His career in the performing arts began in 1986, following his training at the Escola de Artes Escénicas da Estrada under the tutelage of prominent dramatist Roberto Vidal Bolaño.
