Marzia Ubaldi was an Italian actress and voice actress known for her extensive work in dubbing foreign films and television series for the Italian audience. Born on 2 June 1938 in Milan, she graduated from the drama school of the Piccolo Teatro and made her professional stage debut in 1960. Her career spanned over six decades, during which she remained active until her death on 21 October 2023. While she began her career in theatre and later appeared in numerous live-action Italian television series such as Nero Wolfe, Elisa di Rivombrosa, and Suburra: Blood on Rome, she became particularly renowned for her voice dubbing work.

Ubaldi’s career in animation dubbing included contributing to several high-profile films. In the acclaimed Studio Ghibli film Princess Mononoke, she provided the Italian voice for the character Moro, the giant wolf goddess and protector of the forest. Her other notable anime and animation voice roles included Mama Gunda in the Italian dub of Tarzan 2, Mamma Efelante in Winnie the Pooh and the Elephants, Ms. Dilber in A Christmas Carol, and Mrs. Henscher in ParaNorman.

Beyond animation, Ubaldi was highly respected for dubbing the Italian voices of numerous acclaimed international actresses. She regularly dubbed performances by Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Anne Bancroft, Gena Rowlands, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jeanne Moreau. Her work in this field earned her several industry accolades, including a Nastro d'Argento award for her dubbing of Gena Rowlands in the film Another Woman and the prestigious Leggio d'oro Award in 2012, where she was recognized as the best dubber of the year. She was also the founder, alongside her former husband Gastone Moschin, of the Mumos acting academy in Terni, Italy.
