Kunpei Sakamoto is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on October 10, 1965, in Tokyo. He is affiliated with the talent management agency Ken Production. After graduating from high school, he entered a training school run by the theatrical troupe Himawari. Sakamoto made his screen debut at the age of nineteen in the film Koko Kyoshi - Jukujuku. During his twenties and thirties, he was a member of the theatre company Shu Cream, where he frequently played leading roles in stage productions.
Sakamoto transitioned to voice acting after the conclusion of his so-called unlucky year, a period traditionally associated with adulthood in Japan. His entry into the voice acting field coincided with the Korean Wave, leading to early work dubbing numerous Korean dramas.
