Description
Yoshiki Fukuyama was born on September 14, 1963, in Tokyo, Japan, and was raised in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture. He is a Japanese musician, singer, and songwriter who is best known internationally for his work in the anime Macross 7. In that series, he served as the singing voice and guitarist for the main character, Basara Nekki. While Nobutoshi Kanna provided the speaking voice for Basara Nekki, Fukuyama was the vocalist for the character's musical performances, which were credited to the in-universe rock band Fire Bomber.

Fukuyama began his professional music career in the late 1980s as a member of the rock band Humming Bird, where he played guitar and sang vocals. The band released nine albums before disbanding in May 2000. Following the end of Humming Bird, he launched a solo career. In 2003, he joined JAM Project, a supergroup known for performing theme songs for anime and video games.

In 2006, Fukuyama released the single Makka na Chikai, which peaked at number 33 on the Oricon weekly chart and became his best-selling solo single. Beyond his work on Macross 7 and with JAM Project, his voice acting and singing credits include performing theme songs for several other anime series, such as King Gainer over! for Overman King Gainer. He also sang the opening theme for the 2006 series Buso Renkin. Fukuyama continues to record and perform both as a solo artist and as a member of JAM Project.
