Vicky Burgoa was a Mexican actress and dubbing director recognized for her work in anime and animated series voice-over during the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Her full name was María Victoria Burgoa Novoa. She was known for having voiced characters in several popular anime franchises that were dubbed in Mexico.
In the Sailor Moon franchise, Burgoa is particularly remembered for two antagonist roles. She provided the voice for Esmeralda, also known as Esmeraude, in the Sailor Moon R season. She also voiced Ojo de Pez, known as Fish Eye, in the Sailor Moon SuperS series. Her other work in the same franchise included voicing various minor characters and additional voices across multiple seasons, including the original Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon S, and associated films.
Beyond Sailor Moon, Burgoa’s anime voice acting credits include significant roles in other major series. She voiced Kogane Musashi and several other characters in Ranma ½. She was also heard as Akane Kimidori in the early Dragon Ball series and provided additional voices for Dragon Ball Z. Her other anime work included roles in One Piece, where she voiced Sra. Día de la Marmota, and in Pokémon: Generación Avanzada as the grandmother of the character James.
