Terakado Hitomi is a former Japanese singer, voice actress, and actor born on January 24, 1989, in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Her career in the entertainment industry began in the early 2000s, and she was affiliated with the talent agency Style Cube. Throughout her professional life, her career path was marked by several hiatuses, including an initial retirement from show business on May 1, 2008, due to personal reasons, followed by a comeback on May 6, 2009. She eventually entered a period of hiatus from entertainment activities after a final concert on September 7, 2014.

Terakado is best known for a handful of major voice roles that defined her legacy as a voice actress. She gained significant recognition for her role as Hanon Hōshō, one of the protagonists in the magical girl anime series Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch and its sequel, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure. In the same year, she voiced the character Angelica, a frail and tragic cyborg, in the acclaimed series Gunslinger Girl. Another of her early roles was Karinka in the series Steel Angel Kurumi Pure. Beyond these prominent roles, her voice acting portfolio includes smaller parts, such as a student in the 2012 series Nakaimo - My Little Sister Is Among Them! and a member of the Yama Arashi Fan Club in an episode of Polar Bear's Cafe.

In addition to her voice work, Terakado was also active as a singer, contributing to the music of the series in which she performed. For Mermaid Melody, she sang character songs, including one titled Mizuiro No Senritsu, and participated in the recording of the series' theme song Legend of Mermaid.
