Katja Amberger is a German actress and voice actress born in 1964 in Frankfurt, who grew up in Berlin. She completed her acting studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg from 1983 to 1986. Her career in theater began with a permanent engagement at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, followed by positions at notable German-language theaters including the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Residenztheater in Munich, the Stadttheater Basel, and the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam. She has worked with directors such as Robert Lepage, Leander Haußmann, and Matthias Brenner.

In the field of voice acting, Amberger is known for providing the German voice for numerous characters in film and television series. One of her prominent anime roles is Domino, the commander of the prison guards in the anime series One Piece. Domino is a character who appears in the Impel Down arc of the story. Beyond anime, her extensive list of voice roles includes dubbing work for live-action series such as The Good Doctor, Star Trek: Enterprise, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Once Upon a Time. She has also dubbed actresses in films including Andrea Osvárt in Das Ende ist mein Anfang and Nelly Furtado in Max Payne.

Additionally, Amberger has an extensive career as a narrator and speaker, working on documentaries for broadcasters such as Bayerischer Rundfunk, ARD, ZDF, and Arte. She has participated in numerous public literary readings, often alongside authors like T.C. Boyle and Robert Macfarlane.
