Matt Black is an American voice actor and actor known for his work in English-language dubs of anime, most notably for his role as Prince Philionel el de Seyruun in the Slayers franchise. He is sometimes credited as Mathew Black or Matthew Black. His most prominent voice role is Prince Philionel el de Seyruun, the physically powerful and justice-obsessed crown prince of the kingdom of Saillune in the anime series The Slayers. He performed this role across multiple installments of the franchise, including The Slayers, Slayers NEXT, Slayers TRY, Slayers REVOLUTION, and Slayers EVOLUTION-R. His other anime voice credits include the role of Zambi in the English version of the animated film Harmagedon (1983) and providing additional voices for the video M.D. Geist II (1996). Beyond anime, his voice work extends to American animated series, such as playing Mr. Pig in Mr. Pig & Mr. Duck, and providing voices for Wonder Pets! as characters including a moose, a daddy ladybug, and a whale. He has also worked on video games, with roles in The Pink Panther: Hokus Pokus Pink (1998) as characters including Ares, Elder Masai, and Grooming Bugis, and in the 1998 video game adaptation of South Park as various characters.
