Otoya Kawano is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on August 18, 1965, in Taketa, Ōita Prefecture, Japan. His real name is Yasushi Kawano. He is currently affiliated with the agency J-Clip, having previously been represented by Horipro, Office Osawa, and Herringbone.

Kawano's career in the entertainment industry began in 1987 when he formed the comedy duo "Shooting" and made his television debut. He was the first comedy talent to be signed by the agency Horipro, where he worked for nine years and produced comedy live shows. In addition to his performance work, he has also served as an advisor and mentor to up-and-coming comedy acts.

As a voice actor, Kawano is known for his versatility across anime, video games, and dubbing. One of his most prominent and early leading roles was as Gain Bijou in the 2002 mecha anime series Overman King Gainer. Other significant anime voice roles include Seishirou Sakurazuka in X, a squad leader in Hellsing, Ryujiro Sasaki in Samurai Champloo, and Akio Kawaguchi in Desert Punk. He has also had recurring roles in long-running series such as Detective Conan. In Attack on Titan The Final Season, he voices Artur Braus, the father of Sasha Blouse. His video game work includes roles in the Super Robot Wars series and Another Century's Episode.

Beyond animation, Kawano's career encompasses live-action television dramas, film, and stage productions. He has also been a regular radio personality and narrator, hosting programs and providing commentary, particularly for baseball broadcasts, reflecting his passion for the sport.
