Mayu Kudō

Description
Mayu Kudō is a Japanese singer, actress, and voice actor born in Tokyo on September 12, 1986. She began her career in the entertainment industry in 2005 as a member of the jazz vocal unit Harajuku BJ Girls. She made her solo debut in 2007 by performing the opening theme song for the anime series Yes! Precure 5, beginning a long association with the Precure franchise.

As a voice actor, Kudō is best known for her work within the same Precure series. In the 2011-2012 anime television series Suite Precure, she voiced the Fairy Tones, a group of eight small, fairy-like creatures who assist the main characters. In a display of vocal range, she provided the distinct voices for all eight individual Fairy Tone characters, each with its own personality and speech pattern. Her role as the Fairy Tones extended to the films Eiga Suite Precure: Torimodose! Kokoro ga Tsunagu Kiseki no Melody and Precure All Stars New Stage: Mirai no Tomodachi. She also performed a character song for the fairies.

In addition to her role as Fairy Tones, Kudō has made cameo voice appearances as herself in earlier series, appearing in an episode of Yes! Precure 5 in 2007 and again in Heartcatch Precure! in 2010. Her other anime voice role includes Yuka Shishimoto in the 2018 series Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan.

Kudō’s career features recurring collaborations with the Precure franchise, where her work as both a singer and voice actor are closely linked. As a singer, her voice was featured across numerous Precure series, including Fresh Precure!, Heartcatch Precure!, various Precure All Stars films, and the spin-off series Otona Precure 23 in 2023. She was also a member of the singing unit Cure Quartet. Her contributions to the franchise include performing theme songs for Yes! Precure 5, Yes! Precure 5 GoGo!, Heartcatch Precure!, and Suite Precure, as well as several films. She also performed the opening theme song for the anime series Uchi no 3 Shimai.

Kudō announced her marriage and her retirement from the public entertainment industry in April 2017. However, she later returned to performing, participating in the 15th and 20th-anniversary live concerts for the Precure series.
