Hitomi Satō is a Japanese actress and voice actor born on October 10, 1979 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. She began her career in the mid-1990s, making her acting debut in the 1995 television drama Ocean Waves, where she also provided the voice for the character Rikako Muto. Early in her career, she won the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Newcomer in 1997 for her performance in the film Bounce Ko Gals.
In the realm of voice acting, Satō is perhaps best known for her role as Masami Kurahashi in the Ring film series. She first portrayed this character, who is the best friend of Tomoko, in the original 1998 horror film Ring, and reprised the role in the 1999 sequel Ring 2 and again in the 2019 film Sadako.
