Jean-Charles Deval

Description
Jean-Charles Deval is a French actor and voice actor who began his career as a child performer at the age of eleven. His entry into acting happened somewhat by chance when a director, who was casting his older sister, asked if she had a younger brother who could appear alongside her. Although initially reluctant, he attended the audition, enjoyed the experience, and secured a significant role. His sister passed away the following year, but he continued pursuing acting. To build his skills, he trained at the Conservatoire du 16ème arrondissement de Paris under professor Eric Jakobiak and also studied at the Atelier Théâtre Thierry Hamon with Christophe Meynet. He took a singing workshop with Michel d’Ottaviani to gain confidence in using his voice. In his early career, he appeared in French television series such as Famille d’Accueil, Père et Maire, and SOS 18, and later gained wider public recognition for his role as Pierre-Antoine on the TF1 daily series Nos Chers Voisins. He also appeared in the film Les femmes du 6ème étage.

Deval moved into dubbing after spending a year observing sessions at Dubbing Brothers, an experience he found both educational and frustrating until he received his first recurring role. His voice work spans a range of genres, and he is known for dubbing live-action series and films. Some of his notable dubbing credits include the role of Max von Haber in Das Boot, Frank Junior in T2 Trainspotting, Kendal Crowe in Justified, young Jefferson in Black Lightning, A.I. Guy in Upload, Dalton in Mercredi (Wednesday), and Ian Riso in Turner & Hooch. In animation, he voices the character Ranmaru Koguma in the series Go! Go! Loser Ranger!. His career in front of the camera includes appearances in the film La Vérité si je mens! Les débuts and the television series Hippocrate. He has also performed on stage, including in the production Relationshit at the Apollo Théâtre.

Regarding recurring professional collaborations, while he has worked with various directors and actors over his career, the search results do not provide evidence of consistent, repeated creative partnerships. Similarly, his notable achievements are not explicitly documented in terms of awards or special recognition, though his long-standing career in both on-screen performance and voice acting represents a consistent professional commitment. His vocal range is described as medium, and he performs voices for child, teenage, and young adult male characters.
