Dave Wittenberg, also known professionally by the pseudonym Dave Lelyveld, is a South African-born voice actor and scriptwriter who has been active in the entertainment industry since 1997. He was born David Richard Paul Wittenberg on September 1, 1971, in Johannesburg, South Africa, and was raised in the Boston area of the United States, where he is now based.
Wittenberg is perhaps best known for his long-running role as Kakashi Hatake, the skilled and enigmatic ninja known as the Sixth Hokage, in the English dub of the global anime phenomenon Naruto. He first voiced the character in the original Naruto series and continued the role through Naruto: Shippuden and into its sequel series, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, as well as numerous feature films based on the franchise.
