Yasushi Yokoyama was a Japanese performer known for his work as an anime voice actor, as well as a manzai comedian and live-action film actor. He was born on March 18, 1944, in Sukumo, Kōchi Prefecture, Japan. He passed away on January 21, 1996.
Yokoyama is best remembered for his roles in the Jarinko Chie franchise, a beloved anime series and film based on the manga by Etsumi Haruki. In the 1981 theatrical film Jarinko Chie, he provided the voice for both Antonio and Antonio Jr. He reprised the role of Antonio Jr. for the subsequent television anime series Jarinko Chie, which also began in 1981. The series centers on a young girl named Chie Takemoto and her mischievous father Tetsu in Osaka, with Antonio and his son being recurring characters in the story.
Beyond animation, Yokoyama had an extensive career in Japanese cinema and television, appearing in numerous live-action productions during the 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s. His film credits include roles in Big Magnum Kuroiwa Sensei (1985), The Invisible Swordsman (1970), Dioxin from Fish (1992), and Flying (1988).
