Chikao Shiroyama, also known by his legal name Ken Shiroyama, was a Japanese actor and voice actor. Born on October 3, 1932 in Hokkaido, Japan, his career in the entertainment industry began in the early days of Japanese television. He graduated from Hokkaido Rumoi High School and later attended Waseda University's First Faculty of Literature before leaving to pursue his professional path. For many years, he was affiliated with the talent agency Production BAOBAB, and he worked extensively as a narrator in addition to his on-screen and voice acting roles.
His voice acting portfolio is substantial, characterized by a high volume of supporting and episodic roles across many popular anime series. In the mecha genre, he played the role of Gametsu, also known as Generale Gumez, in the 1976 series UFO Senshi Daiapolon. He was a frequent contributor to the Transformers franchise in Japan, taking on multiple roles in the 1986 OVA Transformers: Scramble City, including the characters Ratbat and Skydive. His work in this franchise extended to the original television series Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers, where he voiced a wide array of characters such as Bombshell, Perceptor, Rumble, and Doctor Arkeville, as well as in the follow-up series and the 1986 film The Transformers: The Movie.
