Yoko Yano is a Japanese voice actor and actress from Tokyo, born on May 4. She is affiliated with the talent agency Liberta and was formerly represented by J.CLIP. In the early stages of her career, she performed under the name Yoko Yano with the same kanji writing (矢野洋子) before changing to her current stage name (矢野陽子). Her career began in the 1960s as a child actress under contract with Toho, where she appeared in numerous films and television dramas, including several entries in the Ultraman and Godzilla franchises.
As a voice actor, Yano's career spans several decades. One of her notable early roles was as Chuppi (チュッピー) in the 1977 anime series Fūsen Shōjo Temple-chan. She voiced multiple characters in the Time Bokan series, including various roles in Yatterman such as Hahiness, an old woman, and a mother, as well as the Computer Mama character in Time Patrol Tai Otasukeman. Her other television anime credits include roles in Sazae-san, School Ghost Stories, the 1988 version of Osomatsu-kun, Kobo-chan, and Heisei Tensai Bakabon. She also provided voices for the OVA Time Bokan: Oudou Fukko and the theatrical film WXIII: Patlabor the Movie.
In addition to her voice work for animation, Yano has an extensive career in dubbing foreign films and television series. Her Japanese dubbing credits include roles in ER, Desperate Housewives, Ghostbusters, Twin Peaks, The X-Files, and the Japanese television broadcast versions of Back to the Future.
