Christian Vandepas is an American voice actor, stage actor, and voice director based in Miami, Florida, known for his work in English dubs of anime and animated series. He was born and raised in South Florida and developed an interest in performing at a young age, starting at seven with a local performance group. His passion for theatre was cemented in high school after playing the role of Gavroche in a production of Les Miserables. He pursued this path academically, studying theatre at Broward College before transferring to the New World School of the Arts in downtown Miami, a conservatory affiliated with the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music Theatre. Prior to his voiceover career, Vandepas built a strong foundation in stage acting, performing in numerous productions across South Florida. His work in theatre earned him critical recognition, including a Carbonell Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his role as Buck Barrow in Bonnie and Clyde, and he was named Best Supporting Actor of 2016 by the Miami New Times for his performance in A Minister's Wife.
In voice acting, Vandepas works regularly at dubbing studios in the Miami area, such as Universal Cinergia Dubbing and Centauro Comunicaciones. One of his most prominent roles in anime is Jun Kagami in the English dub of the Mecha-Ude project, a role he originated in the 2018 pilot and is set to reprise in the 2024 television series. Another significant credit is his portrayal of the popular character Sogo Okita in the long-running series Gintama. His other work in anime dubbing includes various roles in Crayon Shin-chan Spin-off and the web anime Obsolete. Beyond anime, his voice can be heard in animation dubs for series such as Wakfu, as Adamaï, and Legend Quest, and he voiced the lead character Bai Ze in the English version of the Chinese animated film Goodbye Monster.
