Kengo Kawanishi is a Japanese voice actor born on February 18, 1985, in Osaka Prefecture. He began his voice acting career in 2006, initially taking minor and supporting roles. He trained at the Amusement Media Academy and later joined Mausu Promotion after a free period. His first major lead role came in 2015 as Mikazuki Augus in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Rei Kiriyama in March Comes In like a Lion, where the original manga author described his voice as having a "dark and bright" quality. He became a household name in the anime industry with roles such as Muichiro Tokito in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Gen Asagiri in Dr. Stone, Shigeru Yahaba in Haikyu!!, and Ritsu Sohma in Fruits Basket. He also voiced Nahoya and Souya Kawata in Tokyo Revengers, Soushirou Hoshina in Kaiju No. 8, and Eita Otoya in Blue Lock. In the film Akumu no Fuchi kara, he voiced the character Sho Asahina.
