"Hotarubi no Mori e" is a short anime film adapted from Yuki Midorikawa's one-shot manga of the same name. The story centers on Hotaru Takegawa, a young girl who becomes lost in a forest inhabited by spirits while visiting her uncle during summer. In the forest, she encounters Gin, a mysterious masked spirit who warns her that physical contact with him will cause him to disappear forever. Despite this limitation, the two form a deep and enduring bond over the years as Hotaru returns to visit Gin every summer.
