Description
Shun Sato is a first-year high school student who has stopped playing soccer after an injury ended his promising athletic career. Because of his exceptional height, he constantly receives requests to join various sports clubs, which he finds increasingly annoying. One day, his classmate Naoki Sato overhears him complaining about his desire not to join any club. An upperclassman known for her catchphrase I want to go home, Naoki has earned the nickname Chokki-chan and has founded the so-called Hyper Going Home Club.

Despite his initial reluctance, Shun becomes involved with Naoki and reluctantly accepts her invitation to join the club, which is not an official school activity. The clubs purpose is simple yet unconventional: its members walk home together after school, finding meaning and connection in what would otherwise be an ordinary routine. What follows is a gentle, character-driven story about two people who do not quite fit in elsewhere discovering a comfortable companionship in these shared after-school moments.

Shun is a quiet and emotionally reserved boy who struggles with a lack of direction following his injury. His tall stature and past as a soccer player make him a target for recruitment by athletic clubs, a pressure that fuels his desire to simply go home after class. Naoki, by contrast, is eccentric and whimsical, with a deep appreciation for romance and the small pleasures of daily life. Although she can be childish and difficult to read, she is also perceptive and drives the clubs activities with her unpredictable but heartfelt energy. Their relationship develops slowly, with the romance building in quiet moments rather than through dramatic confessions.

The series takes place in and around a Japanese high school, with the walk home serving as the central setting where the characters interactions unfold. As Shun spends more time with Naoki, his once-gray world begins to regain color, and he gradually learns to move forward from his past. The narrative explores themes of finding purpose, the value of ordinary experiences, and the subtle growth of an emotional connection between two teenagers who initially seem to have little in common.
