Description
At the prestigious Fujinasu Academy, a private high school on the outskirts of the city, first-year student Ume Mizunoe finds his academic future in jeopardy. While he excels in the humanities, his grades in mathematics and the sciences are so disastrous that he is at risk of having to repeat the year. In a desperate attempt to boost his record, Ume agrees to join the student council, a decision he quickly comes to regret as he discovers the council is not the bastion of order and discipline he expected.

The student council room at Fujinasu Academy is home to a remarkably strange group of individuals. The council president, third-year student Hisako Kotobuki, is a charismatic leader who excels in both academics and sports, though she hides a secretly shy and sulky personality. Arisu Terui, the second-year treasurer, comes from a wealthy family and presents a kind but sometimes intimidating demeanor. Komaro Michinoku is a small, quiet first-year member with a stray-cat-like presence, whose parents were tragically killed in a plane crash when she was young. Rounding out the group is Tan Otori, a junior high school student with a feminine appearance who serves as the council's public relations officer and is adorably cheeky. Overseeing them all is their homeroom teacher and advisor, Satomi Hirasaka, who has a notably lazy personality, especially when at home.

Thrown into this whirlwind of chaotic daily life, Ume's school days become unpredictable and lively as he navigates the quirks and eccentricities of his new colleagues. The story unfolds as a comedic slice-of-life, following the council members as they handle school events, administrative tasks, and personal interactions, with humor arising from the contrast between their exaggerated personalities and their attempts to maintain a semblance of order. The narrative includes a mix of lighthearted ecchi elements and moments of genuine warmth, as the bonds between the characters deepen and their individual backstories, including Komaro's tragic past, are explored. The anime adaptation, produced by studio Passione and directed by Naoyuki Tatsuwa, brings this award-winning yonkoma manga to the screen, a series that won the print category of the ninth Next Manga Awards in 2023.
