Description
A young witch named Rose lives a quiet, isolated life in a cozy cottage by a lake, known to the nearby townsfolk as the Witch of the Lake. Having learned the art of potion-making from her late grandmother, she spends her days brewing remedies in peace, though her heart holds a secret. For four years, she has been in love with a handsome royal knight named Harij Azm, a man she once saw defend the memory of a witch in the royal capital. As a witch who lives outside human affairs, she never imagined her feelings could be reciprocated, let alone that the object of her affection would suddenly appear on her doorstep with an impossible request: to brew a love potion.

Heartbroken but unable to refuse, Rose agrees to help the knight win the heart of another. However, determined to savor what little time she has with him, she claims the potion requires rare ingredients and sends him on a series of absurd and time-consuming quests. This ruse works better than she expected, as the grumbling, strait-laced knight begins visiting her cottage regularly, not just to deliver components but also to ensure she eats properly, often bringing bread and apple butter. Through these stilted yet endearing daily interactions, a slow and unexpected intimacy begins to grow between the reclusive witch and the seemingly arrogant knight. The delicate balance of their relationship is shattered when Harij accidentally consumes the very love potion he ordered, becoming drunk with an uncontrollable, lovesick affection for Rose. In his uninhibited state, he confesses his feelings and suddenly proposes, forcing them both to confront the possibility that the potion might not be the only magic at work.

As their relationship deepens, the story moves beyond the witchs lakeside hermitage. Rose finds herself drawn into Harij's world, leaving her cottage to live in his mansion and prepare for their wedding. This new life introduces her to a host of new characters, including Tara, an urgent and rough-mannered maid who initially mistakes Rose for a new employee. It also brings her into the complicated politics of the royal court, where she must contend with Princess Virura, the very woman for whom the love potion was originally intended. From being framed as a suspect in a potion-related crime to receiving an invitation to a ball hosted by a mysterious noble named Yashumu, Roses journey is one of self-discovery. She must navigate the complexities of human society, learn what it means to love and be loved in return, and ultimately decide whether to cling to the safe solitude of her cottage or embrace a future filled with both joy and uncertainty.
