Description
The story follows Hajime Sekiguchi, a former life insurance salesman who, in a moment of desperation, makes the unexpected leap into the world of hosts. He finds employment at Club One, a cozy host club located a short distance from the Shinjuku district. Despite his initial belief that this is not a job for anyone with a sane mind, Hajime attempts to navigate his new career path by applying the polished sales techniques he honed in his previous profession.
At Club One, Hajime is surrounded by a cast of eccentric and experienced personalities. His new colleagues include Kouichi, a host who embodies the "younger brother" archetype despite having two decades of experience; Ryouichi, a former idol who specializes in romantic sales tactics; and Senichi, a hyper-aggressive host obsessed with mobile games. The series chronicles the outlandish daily lives of these individuals as they compete for the top spot and entertain their clientele, blending workplace comedy with a behind-the-scenes look at the service industry's unique dynamics.
Notable narrative arcs focus on Hajime's struggle to reconcile his mundane background with the extravagant expectations of host culture. His ability to use insurance-selling strategies to attract clients creates a surprising and effective niche, much to the amusement of his coworkers. The story also explores the contrasting approaches of the other hosts, such as the clash between the former idol's romantic finesse and the aggressive gamer's blunt style. The short-form episodes, each running approximately three to four minutes, deliver rapid-fire gags and character-driven humor as these unusual professionals navigate the challenges of customer service, competition, and maintaining their fabricated personas for the guests at Club One.
