The series follows Fushigi Chino, a boy wearing a distinctive red hood who travels from town to town investigating these supernatural occurrences. His mission is to collect each manifested urban legend by sealing it into his red notebook. Traveling alongside him is his partner Jimmy, a former photographer who was transformed into a dog with a human face following a mysterious incident. Fushigis primary goal is to capture his twin sister Himitsu, a girl in a black hood who possesses the frightening ability to bring urban legends into existence. The narrative revolves around this cat-and-mouse pursuit as Fushigi and Jimmy confront a wide array of ghostly phenomena and cryptid sightings, from cursed objects like a man-eating backpack to haunted payphones that grant wishes at a terrible price.
