On a continent where magic and magical beasts have vanished, witches remain as the last vestiges of the supernatural, feared and hunted as dangerous outcasts. Zig Crane, a solitary and highly skilled mercenary, joins a subjugation force with the goal of eliminating one such witch. Deep within a forest, he encounters Saoirse, known as the Silent Witch, and a fierce battle ensues. Although the mercenary emerges victorious, he finds himself without a reason to deliver the final blow. At that moment, the defeated witch makes an unexpected request: she asks him to become her protector and escort her to a place where no one will ever pursue her again.

Zig accepts this unusual contract, and the two form an unlikely alliance. Realizing that the continent’s deep-seated hatred for witches makes finding peace impossible, they decide to journey together to an unknown and largely unexplored land across the sea. Their voyage is not merely a physical relocation but a search for a place where both outcasts can belong. The story follows this pair of former enemies as they carve a path into a world with no return, confronting the lost magic and vicious monstrosities that lie ahead in a full-scale battle high fantasy tale. The series explores the developing bond between the pragmatic, experienced mercenary and the persecuted witch as they face a world that has rejected them both.
