Description
In the year 2050, technology has advanced to allow the fusion of the real and virtual worlds through Meta Reality, or MR. People can use all five senses to interact with digital data seamlessly, leading to a society where comfort and convenience are taken for granted. However, high school student Taiki suffers from a congenital MR bug that prevents him from properly perceiving the MR world, leaving him disconnected from the very system that defines everyday life. His life changes when he encounters Lily, a super-advanced artificial intelligence girl who exists as a purely MR being with no physical body. Lily saves Taiki from an attack by Kiramon, monstrous entities that were once human, and the two form an unlikely partnership. Taiki’s unusual condition, which makes him seem disadvantaged, actually gives him an edge against the Kiramon, and together with Lily they begin to uncover the truth behind these creatures.

Taiki is a kind but weary boy who often gets into trouble due to his glitched vision, yet he is empathetic and accepting of others. Lily is blunt, self-centered, and honest to a fault, having lost her power as a higher being after attempting to connect with Taiki, forcing her to live with him while searching for a way to recover. Their team grows to include Kurumi, Taiki’s energetic childhood friend who initially drifted apart from him but rejoins after being saved from a corrupted MR pet, and Asato, a cynical and reclusive otaku MR gamer who admires Lily and offers his home as their base of operations. Together they form the team Level Robotica.

The narrative follows their battles against Kiramon, whose origin lies in the human heart and mind, and their efforts to understand the true nature of MR, the source of Lily’s power, and what it means to be human in a world where virtual and real have blurred. Major arcs include the discovery of the Kiramon’s connection to lost human emotions, the struggle to protect ordinary people from MR-related incidents, and the gradual revelation of deeper conspiracies surrounding the MR technology itself. The story is a near-future sci-fi action series set in a vividly reimagined Shibuya, Tokyo, mixing high school life with high-stakes battles and philosophical questions about identity, connection, and the boundaries of reality.
