Description
Jean Jacquemonde was born in Lyon, France, to Rick and Eugene Bordeau. His lycanthrope heritage stemmed from his father, whose uncontrollable transformation during Jean's birth ultimately led to abandonment later in childhood. Adopted by Maria Felton, Jean grew up alongside adoptive brother Mark Felton. Their deaths at the hands of Trident Corporation operatives, seeking to exploit Jean's dormant werewolf genes, profoundly shaped his path. Held as a teenager in a French military research facility, Jean encountered Tea Flatte during her infiltration. After she freed him, he consciously triggered his first voluntary werewolf transformation to escape, an act leading to his recruitment by ARCAM as a Spriggan agent, contingent on their agreement never to examine his biology.

Within ARCAM, Jean undertook global missions to secure dangerous ancient relics known as OOPArts. His inaugural mission in Turkey (Noah's Ark arc) saw him sustain gunfire from the antagonist Little Boy. The sight of his own blood triggered his first involuntary werewolf transformation, leading him to kill Little Boy and defeat numerous Machiner's Platoon soldiers. This mission established his operational partnership with Yu Ominae, though Jean frequently critiqued Yu's perceived idealism and lack of ruthlessness, exemplified by arguments over sparing enemies like Fatman. Jean maintained that Spriggans must employ lethal force when necessary to protect humanity from relic misuse, showcasing his anti-hero perspective.

A mission to Romania brought a confrontation with his biological father, Rick Bordeau, who revealed the source of Jean's lycanthropy as inherited genetic engineering from an ancient civilization. This heritage complicated an Ecuador operation where former ARCAM operative Oboro deliberately induced Jean's transformation before inflicting near-fatal injuries. Jean survived due to emergency surgery by Percup Ramdi, which healed his wounds and permanently accelerated his self-regeneration abilities. The impact on his voluntary transformation capability remained unclear. He later participated in a US Army base raid in Japan alongside Yu and Oboro, attempting unsuccessfully to prevent COSMOS forces from extracting Rie Yamabishi.

In a significant deviation from ARCAM loyalties, Jean reluctantly allied with adversaries Iwao Akatsuki and Bo Brantz to sabotage Trident Corporation leader Larry Markson's attempt to harness the South Pole Shrine's "Fire Snake" artifact for global domination. Following Bo's death, the trio, assisted by coerced ARCAM personnel including Yoshino Somei and Rie Yamabishi, neutralized the artifact and thwarted Trident's plans.

Outside primary missions, Jean appeared in non-canonical scenarios. In "Gold Rush," he provided minor support to Yu against Trident forces. The video game "Spriggan: Lunar Verse" featured him in a supporting role for protagonist Tatsuki Otsuki.

Physically, Jean is recognized by his long blonde ponytail and blue eyes. His attire varies between civilian clothing like sweaters and jeans and mission gear typically comprising a white t-shirt, rugged jackets (leather or sleeveless), military or casual trousers, boots, gloves, and a distinctive bandolier for his favored Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun. He also utilizes diverse firearms, including rifles and rocket launchers.

Jean's personality blends calm maturity and patience with a capacity for intense temper. He displays fierce loyalty to ARCAM colleagues like Dr. Meisel and Margaret, often admonishing Yu to prioritize their safety. Despite his willingness to kill opponents deemed "oppressors," he harbors deep trauma regarding his lycanthropy, vehemently rejecting the "monster" label and having vowed to the Feltons never to transform again. His combat demeanor incorporates cockiness and boastfulness, particularly toward adversaries or Spriggans he perceives as reckless.

His abilities center on lycanthropy, initially requiring sight of his own blood to trigger transformation but later controllable voluntarily during his youth. As a werewolf, he possesses superhuman strength, durability, and regenerative capabilities, augmented post-Ramdi surgery. Even in human form, he exhibits exceptional speed, enabling him to outpace automatic gunfire and close distances rapidly. He is a highly proficient marksman with various weapons and a skilled hand-to-hand combatant.
