Description
Otto Mitas is a supporting character in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096, set in the Universal Century timeline of the Gundam franchise during the year U.C. 0096. He is a career officer of the Earth Federation Forces who belongs to the elite Londo Bell task force and serves as the captain of the assault landing ship Nahel Argama. He holds the rank of captain and is a man in his mid-forties who has risen through the military hierarchy over a long career.

When both ships come under attack by the General Revil, which has orders to destroy everyone who knows of Laplace's Box, Mitas enters an uneasy alliance with the Sleeves for survival, though he is careful to make clear to his crew that cooperation is not surrender. The alliance collapses during the hostage crisis with Angelo Sauper, after which ECOAS forces retake the ship. In the final phase of the story, when the last coordinates of Laplace's Box are revealed to point back to Industrial 7, Mitas addresses his crew one last time and leads them on the final mission.
