Description
Freon Flamel is an eighteen-year-old student in her third year of the本科 course at the Sky Wizards Academy, known as Mistgun. She holds the prestigious position of leader of the Sky Wizards Division, placing her at the apex of the academy's operational command during battles against the Devil Beetles. Her authority gives her significant influence over the academy's policies, team assignments, and disciplinary actions.

In terms of appearance, Freon has dark blue eyes and matching dark blue hair styled in a neat bob cut, often adorned with a small white ribbon on top of her head. She typically wears the standard Guardian uniform, which consists of a blue dress with a navy blue collar, a red tie, white sleeves, and black boots.

Freon's personality is defined by her strict discipline and her reliance on facts and results. She is not lenient and firmly believes that failures have no place within the elite ranks of Mistgun. Her demeanor is serious and professional, a necessity given her high-ranking position as Division Leader. Despite her strictness, she is a skilled strategist capable of remaining calm under pressure, as demonstrated when she efficiently coordinated fireteams and organized the city's defenses during a sudden Chimera attack. Her workload is immense, and she is frequently overwhelmed by the numerous duties that accompany her leadership role.

A central aspect of Freon's character is her relationship with her younger sister, Rico Flamel, who is a member of the struggling E601 fireteam. Freon is deeply aware that her sister possesses more natural talent than she does. To prevent Rico from becoming arrogant or complacent, Freon adopted an extremely strict and demanding attitude towards her. This approach, however, backfired and created a significant emotional distance between the two sisters, leading them to largely ignore each other despite being at the same academy. Freon's strictness is not born of malice but from a complicated sense of responsibility and a desire to ensure her sister lives up to her potential.

Her motivations are primarily rooted in protecting the city and maintaining the highest standards for its defenders. She views the ongoing evolution of the Devil Beetles as a serious threat and is constantly seeking ways to improve the combat effectiveness of her Sky Wizards. This concern led her to organize a Mistgun Tournament as a means to quickly motivate and elevate the skills of all fireteams. Her deep-seated care for her sister is subtly revealed at the end of the main conflict, when she is seen alone in her office, smiling as she looks at an old photograph of herself and a younger Rico happily embracing.

Within the story, Freon serves as a figure of institutional authority. She initially harbors a strong distrust for Kanata Age, the protagonist, whom she openly calls a "traitor" and whose assignment as the instructor for the failing E601 team she vehemently disapproves of. Despite her animosity, she is reluctantly curious about his unconventional methods. Her role is often that of an obstacle, as she decides to disband E601 due to their poor performance. She agrees to a bet with Kanata: if his team wins the tournament, she will not disband them. Confident in her judgment, she even publicly announces the bet to ensure he cannot back out, only to be stunned when E601 wins. Following their victory and the subsequent battle, she demonstrates her rigid but fair nature by allowing the team to forgo their punishment for damaging the city, acknowledging their success while adhering to her principle of requiring evidence for claims.

Freon shows subtle but notable development, primarily in her views on Kanata and her relationship with her sister. While her distrust for him remains, her curiosity grows as she observes the results of his training. More significantly, her cold exterior towards Rico begins to thaw. Although she still struggles to express herself and worries about how to deal with her sister, the wall between them begins to crack, culminating in her private, affectionate recollection of their happier past.

In terms of abilities, Freon's combat skills are not the focus of her character. Instead, her primary strengths lie in her strategic mind and her capability as a commander and leader. She is able to assess large-scale battlefield situations, delegate tasks effectively, and make critical decisions under duress. She is also proficient with a weapon, a katana named Mizar, which has a dark blue handle. Her true power is her authority and her ability to orchestrate the actions of the entire Sky Wizards Division.
