Description
Lucille Ernella is a supporting character in the anime Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. She is a newly appointed government official with a background in medicine, sent from the Central administration to join the regional development project. Within the team, she is a junior to the two alchemists Escha Malier and Logix Fiscario, whom she respectfully addresses with the honorific senpai.
Lucille comes from a wealthy and well-known family; her parents run the medicine specialist Ernella Company. As an only child, she has a generally good relationship with them, but she chose to be assigned to a post as far from Central as possible because she was unable to find work in areas where her family’s company had strong influence. She originally aspired to become a doctor and studied hard toward that goal, but she was left behind academically. Instead, she became a government official in order to put her medical knowledge to practical use. Outside of her duties, she studies the great medical treatment art that has been revived from premodern times. She also has a hobby of collecting figurines and has amassed a large collection.
Her personality is defined by seriousness, politeness, and a strong sense of responsibility toward her work. However, she is not flawless: she sometimes makes significant mistakes despite her earnest efforts. She is kind and well-meaning, and she consistently tries to do her best for the team and the people around her. Her dedication to her medical studies and her desire to help others are central to her motivations.
In the story, Lucille joins Escha and Logy in their investigation work and becomes a playable party member. She supports the team with her medical expertise and her knowledge of administration. Her role is that of a diligent junior who grows more confident as she works alongside her experienced colleagues. Her character has its own ending events, which differ slightly depending on whether the player chooses Escha or Logy as the protagonist for that playthrough. Through these events, Lucille’s development is shown as she overcomes her insecurities and gains a stronger sense of purpose as a medical official. Her key relationships are with Escha and Logy, whom she looks up to, and with the other members of the development team, all of whom she gradually learns to trust and cooperate with.
