Description
Genma Himuro is the primary antagonist of the story and the formidable leader of the Eight Devils of Kimon, a group of warriors with supernatural abilities. His physical presence is as imposing as his reputation; he is a monstrously large and muscular man, though not quite as massive as his associate Tessai, and is noted for having a very distinctive, strong jawline.
Genma's background is deeply intertwined with that of the protagonist, Jubei Kibagami. In the past, Genma served as a high-ranking vassal for the same clan for which Jubei worked as a ninja. During this time, he orchestrated a treacherous scheme, manipulating Jubei's fellow clansmen into turning on one another over a hidden stash of gold, an act that forced Jubei to kill his own friends in self-defense. This event set the stage for their bitter, decades-spanning conflict. In a previous confrontation, Jubei managed to decapitate Genma, but the villain's incredible power allowed him to survive and later reform his body.

However, he shows no emotion or care when these lovers are killed, viewing them as tools for his own gratification. His manipulative skills extend to shapeshifting, which he uses to impersonate Hyobu Sakaki, the chamberlain of a rival clan, allowing him to move freely and execute his plans.
