Description
Daikokusei appears as a character in the anime film Ranma ½: Big Trouble in Nekonron, China, and has no counterpart in the original manga. He is one of the Seven Lucky Gods Martial Artists, a group of warriors who rule a small kingdom in China called Nekonron. His name is derived from Daikokuten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of fortune in Japanese mythology. In the film, Daikokusei serves as a guardian for his leader, Kirin, the prince of Nekonron.

Daikokusei is an identical twin, with his brother being Daihokusei. The two are visually nearly indistinguishable, with one of the few differences being the color they each prefer to play in the board game Go. Their physical appearance includes black hair and brown eyes. The twins are characterized by their shared and unified mindset, thinking alike in most situations. Their primary personality trait is an eagerness to play the strategic board game Go, in which they are evenly matched opponents. Beyond this pastime, they are both intensely loyal and ready to eliminate any threat that approaches their leader, Kirin.

The primary motivation for Daikokusei is to serve as a loyal guardian. Along with his brother, he is tasked with protecting the stronghold that leads to Kirin's tower. Their role in the narrative is to act as an obstacle for the protagonist, Ranma Saotome, who is attempting to rescue Akane Tendo from Kirin. When Ranma reaches their position, Daikokusei and his brother attack by using giant pieces from a Go board as weapons, attempting to crush their opponent. Their key relationship is with each other, functioning as a near-inseparable duo, and their shared loyalty to Prince Kirin as members of his elite guard.

The character does not undergo significant development in the film, serving a specific role as an antagonist. His notable abilities derive from his martial arts style, which incorporates the game of Go. He and his brother manipulate oversized Go stones to batter their enemies. Their combined attack strategy relies on their synchronized thinking to coordinate these large projectiles. However, Ranma is able to determine the pattern behind their attacks and outsmart them. The defeat of the two brothers occurs when Ranma manages to bury them under their own massive Go stones.
