Description
Mugan and his twin brother Fugan grew up as orphans, forced to steal to survive. During a theft at a fast food restaurant, a counter attendant threatened them with a gun upon discovering they were NEXTs. Nicolai Brahe intervened, saved them, and offered shelter. Though initially placed with other Nemo Children, the twins disliked the environment and asked to live solely with Nicolai, who became their adoptive father.
Six months before the second season's events, Nicolai received orders from Ouroboros to use the twins to eliminate heroes. Despite Nicolai's reluctance, citing their youth and inexperience, Ouroboros insisted they were expendable assets. Nicolai framed the mission as a chance for the twins to surpass their idol, the legendary NEXT L.L. Audun. Mugan and Fugan deduced Ouroboros' involvement but agreed to participate to fulfill Nicolai's wishes. Their objective was defeating 36 heroes, starting with 24 across various cities before targeting Stern Bild City, home to exactly 12 active heroes.
Mugan possessed the NEXT ability to warp instantaneously anywhere within his line of sight, enabling tactical repositioning, ambushes, or evacuations. After receiving a power-enhancing drug from Ouroboros affiliate Sigourney Rosicky, Mugan's warping expanded to locations beyond direct vision and increased in speed. His fighting style synergized with Fugan's power to absorb and amplify attacks; Mugan frequently used a firearm to deliberately strike Fugan, charging his brother's abilities for devastating effect.
Their campaign employed psychological tactics, leaving figurines representing defeated heroes in hospital rooms as calling cards. They petrified victims using Nicolai's power, turning them into inert statues. Notable confrontations included overpowering Fire Emblem and Sky High using surprise attacks and exploiting emotional vulnerabilities. Against Dragon Kid and Origami Cyclone, Mugan feigned capture through warping misdirection before defeating and petrifying them.
During the final battle at the site of L.L. Audun's defeat, the enhanced drug caused Fugan's body to fracture under absorbed energy. Mugan was impaled on a fence while trying to assist his brother. Heroes exploited Fugan's inability to absorb his own attacks, forcing him to self-destruct. Mortally wounded, Mugan warped both brothers to Nicolai for a final farewell. Gregory Sunshine, an Ouroboros operative, executed Mugan and Fugan with gunshots to the head before killing Nicolai.
Throughout their arc, Mugan showed unwavering loyalty to Fugan and Nicolai, deeply devoted to Nicolai as a father figure. Their violent actions stemmed from a desire to prove their worth to Nicolai and escape their expendable status within Ouroboros.
