Lev Lainur, often referred to as Professor Lev, is a magus who works within the Chaldea Security Organization. He is a tall man with dark purple hair, red eyes, and typically wears glasses and a white lab coat. He is introduced as a trusted colleague and confidant of Director Olga Marie Animusphere, and he serves as a key researcher within Chaldea, having created the Near-Future Observation Lens SHEBA, a device integral to monitoring the future of human history.
His background is deeply tied to an ancient mage lineage that traces back before the Christian era. This bloodline carries a curse that allows possession by a Demon God Pillar, and Lev was born as a host for the Demon God Flauros, who was assigned to oversee the year 2016. Despite this, Lev initially dedicated himself to the preservation of human order, working alongside Romani Archaman and serving as a teacher to Mash Kyrielight, whom he pitied for her circumstances.
Lev's personality is complex and fragmented. He possesses multiple personalities, each with distinct drives. Lev Uvall values the past and is a pure, academic magus who pours all his efforts into theory and magecraft. Lainur Gusion measures the future and seeks the prosperity of magecraft even at the cost of sacrificing the past and present. The third personality, Mr. Flauros, is the awakened Demon God Pillar. Even before his betrayal, Lev was known for a serious, hardworking nature that did not tolerate wastefulness, a trait that carried over to Flauros.
